This guy was jumping away to glory and the only place he rested for a while was on my pant…

These are kids of Rakesh, a wildlife photographer I met in dandeli for the meet. Really cute ones. We (around 20 photographers) were shooting the blue cap rock thrush when I saw these kids in the early morning light and got to shooting the kids instead.

Been travelling + photographing plenty. First the trip to Bhadra and then the Air show and yesterday the Bird race. Its been pretty hectic as the terrain is all dry and dusty this season.
I also made a small trip to Tavarekoppa lion and tiger sanctuary from Bhadra, the tigers there are pretty well fed and ferocious. I couldn’t help but shoot my first animal in captive. Though shooting through the bus we were sitting in which had 1 inch wide mesh openings was a challenge in itself.

Some pics from the Masinagudi trip and the shiny new 70-200. How else to kickstart than by capturing the magnificent beast of the south Indian jungles, Elephas maximus.

I finally am so glad that I’m getting to post the pics which were long due. I and a couple of friends had drove down to Bababudangiri and got to shoot the Neelakurinji which was almost gone, but we were just lucky to capture the 12 year rarity.

I’d first want to thank everyone who has been so helpful and made this trip possible. I take pride in saluting the brave soldiers who have dedicated everything for our safety – “We gave our today for your tomorrow”. I spent a lot of time in army bases and transit camps, and I cannot even begin to describe their hospitality. A BIG SALUTE TO ALL OF THEM.
I had never thought I could do something so risky/dangerous. Truly the most adventurous thing I’ve done so far.
PS: Thanks to deponti for transcribing and editing the account from my diary.
